چکیده
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is one of the most frequent microbes linked with kidney transplant recipients. CMV infection typically classified as virus isolation in any body fluid or specimen. We present a 43-year-old man who underwent deceased donor donor-seronegative and recipient-seronegative (CMV D-/R-) status completed three months prophylaxis high-dose acyclovir given his low-risk status. He was admitted for complaints profuse watery diarrhea persistent fevers lasting week duration. His infectious workup led to quantitative nucleic acid amplification test (QNAT) polymerase chain reaction (PCR) 239,977 IU/mL biopsy-proven diagnosis invasive colitis. treated inpatient intravenous ganciclovir two weeks then de-escalated oral valganciclovir until achieving viremia resolution undetectable QNAT PCR an outpatient. This case illustrates importance changing epidemiology clinical presentation disease solid organ (SOT) recipients era new immunosuppression regimens improved detection early post-transplant period.

A de novo monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease in a kidney transplant recipient: a case report
INTRODUCTION Myeloma following kidney transplantation is a rare entity. It can be divided into two groups: relapse of a previous myeloma and de novo myeloma. Some of these myelomas can be complicated by a monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease, which is even less common. Less than ten cases of monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease after renal graft have been reported in the literat...

To date, the patient has undergone 38 therapeutic phlebotomies during a 6-year period, and the patient continues with elevated hemoglobin concentrations and platelet counts. Her symptoms are well controlled, ...

A living related kidney transplant recipient, who showed very characterstic findings in immunologic study, was reported. This patient was a retransplant recipient. First graft of this patient was his mother's kidney, and the second graft was his older sister's kidney. HLA compatibility between the patient and the second donor was one haplotype identical. Although the patient was responsive in m...
متن کاملPrimary Cytomegalovirus Infection in Seronegative Kidney Transplant Patients Is Associated with Protracted Cold Ischemic Time of Seropositive Donor Organs
Human Cytomegalovirus (CMV) can lead to primary infection or reactivation in CMV-seronegative or -seropositive kidney transplant recipients, respectively. Complications comprise severe end-organ diseases and acute or chronic transplant rejection. Risk for CMV manifestation is stratified according to the CMV-IgG-serostatus, with donor+/recipient- (D+/R-) patients carrying the highest risk for CM...
